The LM2596T-ADJ is a step-down switching regulator. The applications of the LM2596T-ADJ are: Simple high-efficiency step-down(buck)regulator; Efficient pre-regulator for linear regulators; On-card switching regulators; Positive to negative converter(buck-boost); Negative step-up converters; Power supply for battery chargers. The LM2596T-ADJ regulator is a monolithic integrated circuit ideally suited for easy and convenient design of a step-down switching regualtor(buck converter). The circuit of the LM2596T-ADJ is capable of driving a 3.0A load with excellent line and load regulation. The device is available in fixed output voltage of 3.3V, 5.0V,12V, 15V, and an adjustable output version. The regulator was designed to minimize the number of externalcomponents to simplify the power supply design. Standard series of the inductor optimized for use with the LM2596T-ADJ is offered by several different inductor manufacturer.
